François Boulogne (LPS-Orsay+MSC-Paris) - Controlled deposition of colloids on hydrogels

Evaporation is often used to coat a surface with colloids. However, it is also well known that a drying process can lead to important inhomogeneities, which affects the quality of the deposit.
During this seminar, I will present experimental and theoretical results on the manipulation of colloids at the surface of hydrogels. My approach is to use the specific properties of this material in order to design alternative techniques to evaporation. Among these techniques, I will show strategies involving the solvent absorption as well as the diffusiophoresis generated by a salt concentration gradient.
