Résumé:

No slip condition at the rigid wall boundaries in fluid mechanics is an assumption that holds well in most of the fluid flow scenarios. However, in certain flow situations such as flow past a wedge and flow in a corner, partial slip is observed. In this talk, I will talk about some new results that suggest that slip near the corner resolves the continuum singularity observed in cavity flows. We will discuss the nature of this slip.
