Florence ROUYER (Navier) - Lifetime of a bubble and strength of a gas marble

In everyday life as well as in industry or in nature, it is common to see a bubble at the surface of a liquid bath. We did statistical studies of the life time of surface bubbles in different environments (variation of the nature of the liquid and of the atmosphere) and tried to answer the following questions: which physical parameters condition this time? Is it stochastic or deterministic?

Finally we will see that we can also encapsulate gas with liquid films loaded with grains called "gas marbles" which are much more robust objects than soap bubbles because they resist without deforming to variations of their internal pressure. In addition, their granular liquid shell is less permeable to gas transfer than a conventional liquid film.
