Les interactions élasto capillaires gouvernent un monde de phénomènes inexplorés à petite échelle (déformation de feuilles sous les gouttes d’eau, fils des toiles d’araignées, interaction poil goutte, micromécanique…), la richesse de ces interactions ouvre donc de nombreuses perspectives, tant au niveau de la micro-fabrication que de la compréhension de mécanismes exploités par des organismes de très petite taille. C’est dans cette optique que l’action transverse élastocapillaire du laboratoire FCIH-MISES met en place une collaboration active avec le département de Zoologie de l’Université d’Oxford (F. Vollrath, Silk Group) afin de mieux appréhender les propriétés mécaniques encore méconnues des soies d’araignée (thèse AMN Hervé Elettro, co-direction Antkowiak-Neukirch qui démarrera fin 2012). Des collaborations avec MISES se feront pour participer à la révolution de la micro mécanique et de la micro fluidique.
